In a third and final part of a special series retracing the Long March - a crucial episode in the communist ascent to power - Al Jazeera visits Shaanxi province, where the march came to and end.
As Melissa Chan reports, the end of the march marked the beginning of the communist government's extraordinary journey onto the global stage.
