Afghan election: Run-off cancelled, Karzai declared winner

Presidential candidate Hamid Karzai has been declared the winner by the country's election commission in Afghanistan. The announcement comes after the presidential runoff was cancelled following the withdrawal of Karzai's only challenger. Karzais vote reached 49 per cent, and his opponent 31 per cent after first round of elections. Abdullah Abdullah offered HIS response to legitimacy of the election commission.
