Death penalty does not make states safer

Today the state of Texas is schedule to put to death Reginald Blanton. The circumstances of his conviction have raised additional questions about the U.S. justice system and the role of capital punishment in it. Activists say that the death penalty makes people more interested in executions than in finding out the truth and it is not a deterrent for violent crime.
