Pentagon vetting military journalists
August 28, 2009
A recent report by the newspaper Stars and Stripes would have people believe that perhaps the media in the United States is not all that free. The Pentagon has apparently hired a controversial PR Firm, the Rendon Group, to profile journalists in order to determine how they covered the US military in the past. The Pentagon says it is not violating any policies in doing this; however, war correspondents and viewers all over the world are concerned that media coverage coming out of Afghanistan may be one-sided. RT's Dina Gusovsky gets the real story from Kevin Baron, Washington Bureau Reporter for Stars and Stripes.
