Boehner suggests White House approved CIA feud with Pelosi
By David Edwards
House Minority Leader John Boehner wants Speaker Nancy Pelosi to produce evidence that the CIA lied about using harsh interrogation techniques or to apologize to the agency. Boehner suspects that the White House approved CIA Director Leon Panetta statement disagreement with Pelosis account briefings about interrogations. Its pretty hard for most of these agencies to make such a public statement without the white house providing some kind of a blessing, Boehner told Foxs Brian Kilmeade.
I dont know that the President was involved in that decision. But, typically, before some agency would make some announcement like that, the White House would sign off. Especially, when it was a letter as hard-hitting as it was and a rebuke to the Speaker of the House, he said.
