NATOs halts eastward expansion

Ukraine and Georgia will not be invited to join NATO until they carry out military and democratic reforms. Earlier this week, Washington said there would be no shortcuts for either of the countries. The move has been welcomed by Russia which opposes its neighbours joining the alliance.
