At a press conference, on Sept. 10, 2008, Ralph Nader, an independent candidate for president, charged: "We will not be marginalized." He was referring to the traditional antics of the so-called "Debate Commission," along with its cronies in the Establishment media, to keep viable Third Party candidates, like himself, out of the presidential debates. Nader said that the Networks should hold "their own debates" and include Third Party candidates. He also urged a coaliton of veteran groups to do the same. Nader alledged that the rigged present Two-Party dominated system is "a disgrace." For background, see: votenader.org. The press conference was called by Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) and was held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. votenader.org
