Dr. William F. Pepper, an international lawyer, was the attorney for James Earl Ray, the supposed killer of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ray was charged with King's murder, confessing to the assassination on March 10, 1969, (though he recanted this confession three days later) and was sentenced to 99 years in prison.
Dr. William F. Pepper is also the lawyer who successfully acted for the family of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in a 1999 Memphis Circuit Court trial. The trial, Kings v. Jowers, etal, aka “the Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassination Conspiracy Trial” resulted in this jury verdict;
